woven entirely by hand on a bead loom, this piece utilizes the uniform shape of japanese glass beads to build a continuous and flat plane of colour and texture. the central motif emerges through a balance of warm coral, muted teal, light blue and olive green, anchored by subtle hints of deep red, brown and gold.
rather than finishing with a concealed edge, the piece embraces its own construction. the soft warp threads are left exposed at the top and bottom, providing a gentle and tactile contrast to the tightly woven glass. the piece is matted and housed in a minimalist gold frame.
